Longboat Key Turtle Watch is a not-for-profit 501c3 organization and is permitted with FWC under Mote Marine Laboratory to perform activities related to sea turtle nesting.
The primary purposes of the Group are to support sea turtle conservation; educate the
community via educational activities promoting the preservation of the sea turtle species; and provide education for volunteers through hands-on training, lectures, educational gatherings, and symposia; and to support permitted activities, including monitoring the habitat, nesting, and hatching of sea turtles on the Manatee County portion of Longboat Key.
